Interested candidates are invited to submit applications along with copies of all the certificates of educational qualifications, date of birth, working experience etc. by affixing a passport size photograph on the APPLICATION FORM which is available on our website www.rmrc.res.in to attend a walk-in interview on 8th March 2016 at 10:30 AM to fill up one post of Scientist – II (Non-Medical) on a consolidated salary of Rs. 45954/- + 20% HRA per month (Fixed) under ICMR funded ad-hoc project for a period for six months at this Centre. The verification of original certificates will start at 9.30 AM. Late coming candidates after 10:00 AM will not be entertained. No TA/DA will be paid by the Centre for attending the walk-in-interview..

Essential Qualification
1st class Master’s degree in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology OR
B.E / B.Tech (Bioinformatics / Computer Science / Biotechnology) OR
2nd Class M.Sc. with Ph.D. in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Life Science.
*B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years' experience
Desirable Qualification:
Post-doctoral research experience in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Computer Science / Life Science at a recognized institution.
Experience in handling and analyzing sequencing data.
Experience in scripting languages (PERL/PYTHON) etc./ Statistical software.
Experience in developing research projects.
Age limit: Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of Walk-in Interview, and relaxation as per GOI rules.
Emoluments: Consolidated salary of Rs.45,954 /- + 20% HRA per month (Fixed)
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Work on research projects undertaken by Bioinformatics Centre.
- Help in developing projects related to Bio-medical informatics.
- Collaborate with other biomedical researches of the Centre for application of Bioinformatics techniques and tools in other projects undertaken by the Centre.
- Help in task force activities such as organizing meetings, training programs, preparing background documents reports, budgeting etc.
Duration: 6 months
General conditions: The post is purely temporary and offered for the duration of the project. The incumbent selected will have no claim for regular appointment under RMRC, Port Blair/ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project. The Director / Selection Committee has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason thereof and no recommendation in this matter will be entertained.
