The aim of the workshop is to train the participants towards the application of bioinformatics tools in the field of geographical genomics and development of database on communicable and non-communicable diseases. Training would be in the form of oral presentation, demonstration and hands-on.
The programme is being sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (Biomedical Informatics Centre) and there is no enrolment fee. However, all participants need to support their own travel and accommodation. Training material, working lunch and refreshments will be provided during workshop days.
Candidates from diverse backgrounds, such as PhD, MD, MBBS, M Pharm, MSc. (Life sciences) and M Tech (Life sciences) are eligible. PhD scholars and PG students of medical and life science background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should send their application/letter endorsed by the respective department head along with recent CV to the Director, RMRC (ICMR) Port Blair. The candidates may also submit applications by email bic.rmrcpb@gmail.com, however, the recommendation letter by the head of the Department should be attached as a scanned copy. Please mention “Application to attend the workshop at BIC, RMRC (ICMR), Port Blair” as Subject in the email.
