Yogesh Singh is a biomedical scientist with a background in zoology and an evolving focus on metabolic health, particularly diabetes, insulin resistance, and the critical role of epigenetic factors in metabolic regulation. Holding a B.Sc. (Honours) from Hansraj College, an M.Sc. from Punjabi University, and pursuing his PhD at Panjab University, his diverse research background spans from studying extreme high-altitude animal physiology at DRDO's Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) to assessing post-vaccination immune responses and unmet population health needs in island ecosystems.

Scientific Contributions & Focus

Metabolic Health of the Nicobarese Tribe

Currently drives focused research into the metabolic health patterns of the indigenous Nicobarese population. His broader aim involves understanding the intricate molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance and exploring how epigenetic factors deeply influence metabolic regulation for future preventative therapies.

Population Health & Assistive Technologies

Spearheaded research assessing unmet needs and access to assistive technologies among the general population through the digital rATA tool (2023–2026), connecting vital laboratory investigations with large-scale population health research.

Vaccine Immune Responses

Contributed to the ICMR cohort study analyzing the detailed immune responses following a precautionary third dose of COVISHIELD/COVAXIN among healthy adult populations at the Sri Vijaya Puram site.

High-Altitude Physiology (DRDO DIHAR)

Brings a robust foundation in animal physiology from his tenure as a Research Fellow at DIHAR, DRDO (Leh–Ladakh). His work evaluated the hormonal/biochemical profiles of Ladakhi cows and explored poultry embryonic survivability and egg hatching under extreme-altitude environments.
